First attempt only. Ranked by exit score, then return. Replays are practice.

THE RULES

Make the exit count.

In Sell the Top, you start holding at 100. Your Exit score runs from 0 to 100: 100 is the best available closing price after entry, and 0 is the worst. It rewards a good exit whether you capture a rally or cut a loss. Your actual profit or loss is shown separately.

Best close 100 · Worst close 60 · Exit 98
95/100 exit score · −2% return

Each candle forms over 1.5 seconds at 1× speed. Its movement and volume buildup are illustrative; the completed open, high, low, close and volume are real historical data. The animation does not reconstruct the actual sequence of trades.

Pause freezes the forming candle. Step finishes that candle. BUY, SHORT, SELL and CLOSE fill immediately at the current price shown, including while a candle is forming or paused. Forming-candle fills are simulated using the illustrative path within the real historical candle. Once a gap is visible, the previous close is no longer available. Indicators update when a candle closes.

Timeframe and setup filters start a fresh, paused round. Random mixes all setups without a setup hint. Categories come from the historical episode notes and describe practice candidates, not guaranteed outcomes. Dip buys includes rebound attempts. A chart may belong to more than one category.

Play Daily first, then choose Create account / Sign in beside your result to save it. Continue with ChatGPT and choose a leaderboard name in My account. Your first guest Daily is held on the server, tied to this browser, and carried through sign-in. Replays cannot replace that first result or an existing Daily attempt on your account. Guest Historical rounds are unsaved practice.

Your account has two separate virtual balances: $10,000 for Historical and $10,000 for Daily. Each counted position uses the account's current balance. Profits and losses change that balance; exit scores do not.

Daily follows Australia/Sydney. Your first attempt is reserved when you first play, step or trade. Refreshing resumes the saved attempt. Only that first attempt changes the Daily account and rankings, across both game modes. Later replays are practice. Rankings are separate by mode, ordered by exit score with return as the tie-breaker. No trade or a completely flat chart is unranked.

Historical has its own running P&L and no leaderboard. Finish an active counted round before changing its chart. You can switch collections and return to the saved position. An unfinished Daily from a previous day is closed at its last saved candle when the next Daily starts.

15-minute candles combine complete groups of three real 5-minute source bars. Incomplete groups are omitted. The 1-minute library currently contains one example.

Exit scores still compare your fill with completed closing prices; a simulated fill outside that range is capped at 0 or 100. Wicks don’t change this benchmark. For a long: (exit − worst close) ÷ (best close − worst close) × 100. For a short the price direction is reversed. Your entry price is available as an immediate exit. Flat charts and unentered positions have no exit score. A good exit score can still mean losing money.

In Buy & Sell, start with cash and choose BUY for a long position or SHORT for a short position. Once entered, use SELL to exit your long or CLOSE to exit your short. You get one entry and one exit. Long returns are (exit − entry) ÷ entry; short returns are (entry − exit) ÷ entry. The best close is the highest price after entry for a long, or the lowest for a short.

If the chart ends while you have a position, it closes at the last candle's close. If you never enter, you finish with no trade. Returns use the entry value, without leverage, fees, borrow costs or slippage. These historical examples are practice, not an unbiased strategy test.

A counted short closes if its loss reaches the virtual account's balance. The account stops at zero; further rounds are uncounted practice. Daily rankings are for casual play: chart files are public and can be inspected.

Indicators use preceding history and completed candles. VWAP weights each candle’s typical price (high + low + close, divided by three) by volume. It resets each trading day on intraday charts and each month on daily charts; crypto days follow UTC. Extended-hours examples include that day's pre-market, regular and post-market candles in VWAP. Volume is shown relative to the recent bars. Stock examples may use regular or extended trading hours; crypto examples can run around the clock. Untraded gaps are preserved; no extra candles are inserted.
